Primary Objective of Position
To quickly, efficiently and accurately process, verify and key in all transactions requested by members and answer inquiries related to their accounts or the Credit Union's services in a pleasant, friendly, but business like manner.
Major Areas of Accountability
Interprets and accurately processes member in person, telephone, mail and over the counter transactions, and disbursement of loan funds to maintain a high standard of member service and satisfaction. Courteously and pleasantly answers member's questions and explains policies to them.
Verifies all information and documents presented to avoid delays or misrepresentation of information on a particular account.
Anticipates cash requirements for the day and assures that money drawer is stocked with sufficient cash to meet member demands. Monitors cash flow and returns extra cash to vault to meet established guidelines for cash on hand.
Maintains established controls such as check holds, to preclude possible erroneous or fraudulent transactions. Refers to check cashing guidelines and uses prudent verification procedures.
Balances money drawer each day according to established procedures, locating errors or missing information promptly. Process daily work for Branch Manager.
Performs other services for members such as issuing travelers checks, money orders to provide them with prompt, convenient service.
Verifies accuracy of transactions completed and requests assistance, as required, to locate errors and/or resolve out of balance totals.
Keys into computer memory, new or changed names, addresses, social security numbers, loan file documentation, etc., and runs inquiries on terminal to obtain or verify data to maintain current and accurate records.
Willingly provides backup for or assists other personnel, as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines, or spread the workload equitably.
Handles member and other outside contacts in a friendly, pleasant, business like manner which enhances the favorable image of the Credit Union.
Employee is required to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours a year for community service projects subject to supervisor’s approval or discretion. Approved projects are sponsored by the credit union and are under the direction of the Marketing Department.
