Last week, Unity One along with other local Fort Worth credit unions presented an $88,000 check to Cook Children's Medical Center. Thanks to generous contributions from credit union staff, members and business partners, the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions was able to continue making a difference in the lives of Cook Children's patients.   

The Children’s Medical Hospitals treat one in 10 children in North America every year. Whether they suffer from common childhood ailments like asthma and broken bones, or fighting bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, CMN Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids.

Looking at Landon, you would never know he suffers from a medical condition. There are many natural movements and common tasks that don't come easy for him, but his willpower to succeed and lead overshadow any struggles he may have.

He has weekly physical therapy appointments and daily exercises to ensure his leg muscles are able to function properly and provide him the necessary range and motion needed to stay active. In addition to therapy, Landon also receives regular Botox injections as part of his treatment.

Landon loves sports, especially baseball, and playing with his friends.

This holiday season, members of the community have an opportunity to support a Children's Miracle Network hospital by simply voting online.

CU Direct, Unity One's indirect lending partner, is donating $20,000 to a Children’s Miracle Network hospital, in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

On August 12, the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions will be hosting its annual fundraiser Shake, Rattle and Bowl, benefitting CookCreditUnionforKids CMNH color Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. Last year, the 42+ credit unions in the Chapter raised over $35,000 for the Children's Miracle Network and the hospital through ticket sales, silent auction proceeds, sponsorship and donations. The 2014 goal is to raise $40,000.

Unity One Credit Union is challenging its employees, friends, partners and members to raise at least $1,000 just through online giving. In 2013, the credit union raised almost $700 online. Donating as little as $5 directly impacts the life of a child and his/her family.

Credit unions have always been champions of the communities they serve, and the bowl-a-thon and other efforts to support the Children's Miracle Network are definitely examples of that commitment. Join us.
